You can find below all the information you need to take care of your Biatec watch and service it periodically. If you have any question which is not answered in this page please feel free to contact us anytime, we’ll be glad to reply quickly and solve all your issues.
SHOCKS
Although all Biatec watches are tested for resistance, you should still avoid violent shocks. Apart from damaging its appearance, this can cause premature wear in materials and components, which may affect the performance of the watch.
EXTREME TEMPERATURES
Please avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures above 50°C/122°F and below 0°C/32°F or to sudden temperature changes. A sharp change in temperature can cause condensation under the crystal of your watch.
MAGNETISM
Avoid leaving your watch close to equipment that can produce strong magnetic fields such as speakers, refrigerators, mobile phones, or magnets on bags or boxes, etc as these may affect the performance of your watch. We also recommend that you remove your watch when you go through the body scanner at the airport. Throughout everyday life, we are often exposed to magnetic fields that may cause timepieces to run slower, excessively fast, or even stop. If necessary, a simple demagnetization process can be performed by a professional watchmaker, before resetting the time.
CORROSIVE MATERIALS
Avoid all contact with corrosive materials (acid, perfumes, carbonated beverages, etc.) as they are likely to damage the water-resistant seals.
SETTING DATE
Please avoid correcting the date and month between 9:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
All our watches have been designed for intensive wear and are tested for impact and shock resistance. However we do not recommend you to play any high-impact sports while wearing a Biatec watch. You should be careful especially if you want to play tennis or golf or other sports where there is a big impact for your hand which can result in a big shock for your watch.
What is the water resistance of my Biatec watch?Every Biatec watch has its water resistance engraved on the caseback or it is written in the owner’s manual. Before using your Biatec watch in water, there are some things you should take care about to ensure proper protection against water:
Our leather straps have higher resistance against water than standard market straps. However we do not advise you to use leather straps in water because they can be deformed/discoloured especially by salted water. After exposure to salted water, rinse the watch in fresh water and then dry it.
The table below indicates appropriate activities for the watch depending upon its water resistance:
30 Metres / 100ft - Splashes
50 Meters / 165 ft - Shower
100 Meters / 333 ft - Swimming and Snorkeling
>= 200 Meters / 660 ft - Diving and deep sea diving
How often should I wind my Biatec watch?
Hand-wound watches: You should wind your mechanical watch every day. Winding is complete when you feel a little resistance of the crown. To avoid overwinding please do not continue to turn the crown once you start to feel its resistance.
Automatic watches: This kinds of movements are wound automatically by wearing the watch on the wrist. You can also wind it manually by turning the crown in the neutral position.
Even if you have not worn your timepiece for a while, you should wind your mechanical (automatic or hand-wound) watch at least once a month. This helps keep the movement components well lubricated.
How can I clean my Biatec watch? You should clean your watch regularly (at least once every 2-3 months) with warm water, rinse it with fresh water, and dry it with a soft cloth. This simple actions will limit the abrasive or corrosive effects of chlorine, sea water, sand and perfume.
For leather straps we recommend you use special deodorants from Heli or any other company.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS
While sending a watch back to us for the repairing/servicing, please do not send the whole watch box! It is very heavy and costly. Only send the watch itself and the related stamped warranty card! Just wrap the watch safely into a bubble foil a few times and send it inside a solid carton box. Please always use a courier service like FedEx or UPS. Make sure the watch is fully insured, trackable and properly packed.
We recommend you to send your watch for recurring servicing every 3-5 years depending on the overall condition of your watch and the way you wear it. If the watch is keeping good time and you are wearing your watch in a gentle and regular way it will be enough to send it every 5 years.
However, if you wear your watch when showering, swimming or under extreme enviromental conditions such as very hot or cold temperaturs, you may want to send it even sooner (every 3 years would be better).
